Chainat Bird Park
This is located 4 kilometres before arriving in Chainat. Birds of more than 100 species live in a huge cage which maintains a natural environment. The park also has an Aquarium which has a collection of various kinds of freshwater fish found in the Chao Phraya River. Local products such as bird models, wickerwork, and pomelo is available at the shops in the park.
Built in 1983, Chai Nat Bird Park is the largest aviary in Asia, where over 100 bird species live and flourish in natural surroundings. Over 60 other cages of birds populate the park. Small man-made waterfalls, gardens, a snake park, a rabbit park, and a wild animal park provide additional interesting sites to visit. A pavilion, located in the middle of a pond, offers respite from the sun.
The Chai Nat Bird Park is also home to an Aquarium, which features many different types of freshwater fish indigenous to the Chao Phraya River. Local handicrafts such as wickerwork and bird carvings as well as fruit are available at shops inside the park.
To get there, from Bangkok, travel along Highway No. 32 on the Chai Nat-Takhli route. Turn left to use Highway No. 1. Proceed another 7 kilometers. The Chai Nat Bird Park is on the right-hand side.
The Chai Nat Bird Park is open from 8.00 am-6.00 pm, whilst the aquarium is open from 8.00 am-5.00 pm daily. Admission to the park for adults is 100 baht, and for children, it is 50 baht.
