RMUTT Lotus Museum
Situated within Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi’s campus, the Lotus museum was founded in 2000 as part of Princess MahaChakriSirindhorn’s project to collect Thai, foreign and hybrid lotus species. In addition, the museum is a research and learning center. Its objectives are to study the lotus plant and find practical applications and uses for different parts of the plant.
The museum also contains a lotus botanical garden, dedicated to the preservation and propagation of the beautiful flower, an ideal stop for nature-lovers. The area is filled with hundreds of lotus species, contained in pots and ponds, including the MangkalaUbol species, which was awarded the title of Best New Hardy Waterlily 2004 in the 19th World Lotus Competition in the United States.
The Lotus Museum is located inside Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, 39 Mu 1 Rangsit-NakhonNayok Road, TambonKhlongHok, AmphoeThanyaburi, Pathumthani 12110. The museum is open every day, from 8:30 am-4.30 pm. Admission is free.
