Cicada is a well-known Thai and international tourist destination that is open every weekend and focuses exclusively on arts and crafts. As the sun sets, Cicada becomes even more active. The market is separated into four sections, including a portion with fashion and home décor products for sale, an art gallery, a sizable outdoor food court, and space with live music and performances by bands, dance troupes, inventive pantomime actors, and live DJs.

Cicada’s aesthetic sets it apart from other night markets. There are plenty of handmade things, original paintings, and sculptures, exhibitions of current art, as well as artists working on glass blowing and live sketching, so you won’t find any cheap plastic trinkets here.

The emphasis isn’t primarily on buying at Cicada though because there are so many opportunities to relax and soak in the surroundings, even if there are lots of fascinating stuff you can take home and numerous options for artsy retail therapy there.
