“We customize tourism services to offer private tours for tourists”.

Koh Lanta is well-known for its magnificent beach attractions in the South of Thailand. If tourists spend some spare time visiting this place, tourists will gain the most satisfaction when observing the beauty of natural attractions there, especially in these following caves.

Tham Khao Mai Kaew

SubDistrict: Koh Lanta Yai      District: Koh Lanta        Province: Krabi

Overview of Tham Khao Mai Kaew

The Kaew trees that grow there gave the area its name, Khao Mai Kaew. There are stunning stalactites and stalagmites there. It is a location of the National Park Protection Unit 4 (Khao Mai Kaew) close to Klong Nin Village. To go to Tham Khao Mai Kaew, turn right at the intersection, walk for about 2 kilometers straight, and then turn left for another 1 kilometer.

History

Visitors to Klong Nin Beach have the option of switching the scene from being in the water to exploring the cave and taking in the still-abundant flora. Inside the cave, there are no beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, but the surrounding environment and nature are still enjoyable.

Visitors have a choice between walking and using vines to ascend to the cave or taking an elephant ride to see Koh Lanta’s tropical rainforest and discover the mystery of Tham Mai Kaew. They can also take pleasure in exploring a small cave that a tour leader has lit up. To see the cave, a guided tour is available.

The guiding cost, which ranges from 30 to 50 baht, is fair. You can get lost if you try to explore the cave on your own to save money. To ensure everyone’s safety while exploring the cave’s splendor, please keep in mind the regulations that the guide gives you before you begin.

Wat Tham Seua Cave Temple

Location: Tambon Ko Lanta Yai, Amphoe Ko Lanta, Chang Wat Krabi, Thailand

Open time: 9 AM -6 PM

History

The temple was first built in 1975 (B.E. 2518), when Jumnean Seelasettho (Ajahn Jumnean), a Vipassana monk, entered the cave to meditate. He saw tigers sauntering around the cave while he was in a state of concentration. Due to this discovery, the temple was given the name Wat Tham Suea. According to different mythology, the cave once was home to a real, enormous tiger. The temple’s name was also inspired by the discovery of tiger paw prints on the cave walls and by the cave’s bulge, which resembles a tiger’s paw.

Landscapes

The Kiriwong Valley’s tropical rain forest, which includes many old trees, surrounds Wat Tham Suea. The caves of Tum Khon Than, Tum Lod, Tum Chang Kaeo, and Tum Luk are worth exploring. Around the caves and temple grounds, numerous old Thanu artifacts were discovered. The majority of the area in and surrounding the Tham Sua region is covered with mountains, along with numerous additional tiny caves that are inaccessible to tourists.

Human skeletons and decorated skulls can be found in numerous locations throughout the temple. In addition to being a Thai Buddhist meditation center, the Tham Sua temple also has important archeological and historical sites. These historical landmarks include things like carved Buddha footprints, ceramic shards, and stone tools.
