Lanta Old Town_The best peaceful village
Lanta Old Town in Koh Lanta province, Thailand, 2022
Location: A little community called Lanta Old Town can be situated in the Krabi Province on Ko Lanta’s East Coast. The Old Town of Ko Lanta served as the island’s port and commercial hub for a very long time.
It also served as a secure harbor for Chinese and Arabic trading ships traveling between the island’s larger ports of Phuket, Penang, and Singapore.
Old Town Lanta was a coastal gypsy community. It evolved into a trade-influenced village over the years. You can now make use of a wide variety of stores, eateries, and homes elevated above the ground. This is fantastic when the tide is in and provides stunning vistas while also overlooking neighboring islands and the mainland.
The Old Town has a distinct Chinese influence and a very slow, laid-back feel. Walking around looking at the lanterns gives you a sense of days gone by. While still a fishing village for the locals, much of Old Town’s trade now comes through low-key tourism with gift shops selling local goods like real leather.
Hammock House, an awesome boutique to check out, has been promoting relaxation since 1996. Butch and Jaeb, two incredibly lovely and understandably laid-back owners, founded the company.
The hammock industry generates successful effects: “The Hammocks were developed as a means of assisting the Mlabri tribe of North Thailand in their search for a new living. They have been trying for a very long time to find a suitable alternative to their formerly nomadic lifestyle in the forests of Laos and Thailand due to deforestation. The production of these high-quality hammocks has now allowed them to achieve financial independence in their hometown and eliminates the need for earlier options like hard fieldwork or sweatshop labor.
