What is Isaan?

Isaan is north-eastern Thailand, the country's largest and least touristy region: Khmer temples such as Phanom Rung, Khao Yai National Park, Mekong culture and a cuisine much loved by Thais.

Do I need to be fit?

Not for the tours. Treks of 2–3 days require normal fitness; let us know your level when you enquire.

What is accommodation like in remote areas?

Simple but comfortable hotels and, on treks, homestay nights with local families. The type of accommodation is shown on each tour page.

When is the best time to go?

November to February is dry and cooler across most of the country; March to May is very hot; June to October is the rainy season, with showers that are often short and fewer visitors.
