Krabi Hot Springs
Krabi hot springs are located in the heart of a small jungle reserve and close to the Khao Phra Bang Khram nature reserve.
Located in the same reserve as the Emerald Pool and Thung Teao Forest Nature Park, it’s well worth taking the time to combine all these wonderful eco-spots into one nature-filled day.
About Krabi Hot Springs
Krabi hot springs are “whirlpool baths” made of smooth rock by channelling water from deep-rooted thermal springs located in volcanic chambers. The waters average 35 – 40 °C and are packed with natural mineral salts that are said to cure all kinds of health problems, including rheumatism and sciatica. The sensation is totally relaxing and the environment is certainly unique, imagine yourself sitting in a bathtub carved out of natural stone and surrounded by rainforest. These jungle baths feed a cool stream that’s perfect for dipping and diving.
Ideally situated beneath rainforest canopies, the cascading waters of the hot springs offer a unique way to get back to nature and leave the world with a rare treat of pure mineral salts in their natural environment. Jacuzzi-style tubs are perfect for sharing, and can be filled to the top with hot running water from the hot springs. The hot springs are unusual in that they form a waterfall that flows into a stream below.
Why come to Krabi Hot Springs?
Krabi Hot Springs is set in a beautiful little rainforest with streams flowing to create a cascade of several pools of natural spring water. It’s a super relaxing sensation with the hot water at a pleasant 35-42 °C. With a breathtaking view of the river below, you can take a dip in the hot springs. Meanwhile, the mineral salts in the spring water do their beneficial work on your skin. A fun experience and an absolute must in Krabi province.
The water in the Krabi hot springs comes from deep underground in volcanic chambers and creates these thermal springs. As is widely believed, the mineral salts in the spring water have beneficial effects on human skin. This is said to relieve a number of (scientifically unproven) complaints such as skin disorders, rheumatism, sciatica and more. While these medical claims have not been proven to alleviate any problem, it certainly has a positive impact on your mental health to lie in these gorgeous Hot Spring waterfall pools and watch the clouds roll by.
If you’re hungry, don’t worry, because at both sites, vendors sell Thai food and drinks at the entrance until around 5.30pm. As this is a nature park, it’s forbidden to bring plastic containers or plastic bottles into the park, so don’t forget to bring a refill bottle!
