Wat Lai

Located on the bank of Maenam Bang Kham (a river) in AmphoeThaWung approximately 24 kilometers from town, this Ayutthaya-period temple is famous for its chapel. Decorated with stucco in various designs, showcasing Buddha’s previous life and his first sermon after attaining enlightenment, the chapel illustrates exquisite, extraordinary Thai craftsmanship. There is also the Phra Si Ari Buddha image which locals have worshipped for generations.

To get there, take Highway No. 311 (Lop Buri-Sing Buri) and turn left into Highway No. 3028 at the traffic light intersection (Km. 18) for 6 kilometers. There are many public bus routes on offer for those opting for public transport, namely, Lop Buri-ThaKhlong, KhokSamrong-Ban Mi, and Sing Buri-Ban Mi routes.
