I was not sure if I should go, given the negative comments on how dirty and overcrowded the island was. However when I arrived I was completely happy with my decision to go. Our boat dropped us off at the „back side“ of the island and there is literally nothing. No kiosk, no toilets, no mass tourism nor speedboats.

On the beach there was absolutely no garbage and the water was beautiful. If you swim out in the snorkeling zone you will see starfish, boxfish, barracuda, crabs , corals, parrotfish, and many more)

I walked to the orher side where the big rock is and there is food being sold (corn 80 thb, water 40 thb, chips 50thb).

Trip from ao namg costs 300 thb plus 400 thb national marine park fee. You will decide with all passengers on the boat when you want to leave the island again because everyone comes back with the exact same group/boat.
